The Half Moon Royal Suites are famous for their individuality with no two being alike. Common to all is a spacious bedroom, separate living room and private terrace or balcony. Most enjoy uninterrupted ocean views, others are secluded within the lush gardens and some enjoy a private pool. West Cottage Royal Suites which are only steps away from the beach exude a classical Jamaican ambiance, those in the Royal Court embody the attributes of tropical living and the suites in the Oleander are on two levels.
The Imperial Suites are quite simply unique. Not only are they our largest accommodation but also the most stylish. Those in the West Cottages - cottage 1, cottage 3, cottage 4, cottage 5 and cottage 8 are architecturally unique, evocative of the plantation style of the 1950's and furnished with aplomb. No two are alike and within each are personal touches, thought-inspiring paintings, books to read and in cottage 1, a grand piano. The 4 Imperial Suites in Cottage 12A to the east offer a contemporary feel with fabulous sea views and deep and wide balconies or patios. The contemporary ambiance continues in the Royal Court where the Imperial Suites range from lofty split-level to beach front and an ever-present sea breeze that gently cools.
Named after the prickly Seagrape tree found throughout the resort, the Seagrape Terrace is shaded by fragrant almond trees and overlooks Sunset Beach. Beckoning guests throughout the day, the Seagrape Terrace offers tasty lunches, delightful snacks and gourmet dining after sunset.
Step into the elegantly frescoed Il Giardino and be instantly transported to a wonderfully romantic restaurant on the coast of Italy. The mouth-watering menu was created by our internationally-trained chefs and offers a variety of beautifully presented authentic Italian dishes
Taking a cue from the diverse cultures that season the Caribbean kitchen, Sugar Mill's chefs have fused the many influences of the region to create a mélange of tastes that is truly Caribbean fusion cuisine. Recipes and methods from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas are joined together in a "melting pot" to create new exotic flavours to tempt the appetite and awaken the palate.
The Sugar Mill re-opened on 1 December after a 4 month closure for some impressive renovations in the kitchens and the restaurant.
Located at the Oleander Terrace, this new dining outlet serves only authentic Jamaican delights. Enjoy favourites such as jerk pork, chicken and sausage, curried goat, braised oxtail with broad beans, fish and bammy and much more! Open for lunch 11:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m
The Pepperpot is now open in the evening also.
This new addition to the cuisine in the Half Moon all inclusive offer is outside the Estate and is 3 kms free transfer away. The restaurant comes highly recommended. Drinks are not included at this non resort venue.
Half Moon has its own resort Championship course, which is excellent, but you can also enjoy the superb challenges that await just 5 minutes away at Cinnamon Hill, a very spectacular course on the hilltops overlooking the sea on many holes, it is a perfect contrast to Half Moon, even more tough and very hilly. If you take our Ultimate Escape Golf Package you can play both courses during the same stay in the Hotel.
Great undulating greens, demanding holes and challenging drives and breath taking vistas, they are all part of the newly renovated, award-winning, par 72 championship course designed by renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Named the Best Caribbean Golf Resort by Caribbean World Magazine, the Half Moon Golf Course now boasts improved features for both the avid and casual golfer. Recently renovated by Roger Rulewich, renowned golf course architect, the course features newly-aligned, multiple tee complexes as well as repositioned fairway and greenside bunkers. In completing the renovation project, Rulewich was mindful to maintain the course's integrity of respecting the natural flow of the land while modernizing the course to account for improvements made to golf equipment over the years.
A member of the Jack Nicklaus "Great Golf Resorts of the World," Half Moon's course has been welcoming golfers of all levels for over a quarter of a century.
Hotel guests are also invited to play golf on White Witch and once only on Cinnamon Hill both of which are stunning tests of golf - set with ocean views and over rolling hills, White Witch really is an incredible test of golf, Cinnamon Hill is a much more playable challenge for the average golfer, but for sure both are very exhilarating indeed and nice to have a change, although a lof our clients only play at Half Moon because it is indeed so enjoyable.
Just to let you know we had a great holiday in Jamaica,Half moon is a very special place ,excellent accommodation ,superb food and top class golf. The weather started poor but got better and better and the Jamaican people and service was as good as we've had. We look forward to next year! - D.Robinson (Nov.14)
Back from Paradise, what an amazing place, we loved it. As explained they did upgrade us to an Imperial Suite and although it was an a fantastic room it was not the same as the ones on the website (no piano thank goodness! and four poster etc) and think it was possibly the location of it that gave it that standing I’m not sure, however we would love to be able to have that room again - Bernadette Stones (Feb 2014)
For the second year my partner and I visited the Half Moon Resort in Montego Bay for a two week vacation to get away from a rather cold and rainy Scotland, We were not disappointed, There are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel. The food is fantastic, the staff and wonderful service are second to none that we have experienced from South Africa to Europe to the Emirates. We had never revisited a resort until the Half Moon and are making plans already to book for next February. The Half Moon Golf resort is excellent and a great challenge. The White Witch, although difficult, is absolutely beautiful located high in the hills. Unfortunately Cinnamon Hills for the second year running, in our opinion, was not so great, although some of the holes are beautiful we found the course to be slightly neglected, the staff not so pleasant or attentive and the caddies a little arrogant for us. An all inclusive plan is highly recommended, the value for money from premium drinks and choice of Buffet or A La Carte dining at all meal times is tremendous, off plan can work out expensive. The accommodation is excellent, the standard superior room was super last year but the Hibiscus Suites were fab and highly recommended. The standard of cleanliness is excellent throughout the hotel, the resort is beautifully kept with landscaped gardens, white sandy beaches and a large range of activitites. Our thanks go to the many members of staff who looked after us during our vacation,<p>These people made our holiday, with their kind words and attention to detail and wonderful personalities, we can not thank you enough. - Fiona & Blair
We had an excellent holiday, everything ran smoothly. The hotel was first class and the staff could not have been more helpful at all times. Our suite was lovely, right on the seafront. Breakfasts were excellent and there was plenty of choice for the other meals. We did use the Italian and Sugar Mill restaurants on a couple of occassions each which we thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, front desk, concierge, housekeeping, restaurants and bars. Mandie Poskitt (Feb.15)
