A beautiful location with outstanding scenery on a unique peninsula, just 15 minutes north of Belle Mare Plage. The hotel has some unique features, it is definitely worth highlighting the unique floating bar, which sits on the Lagoon which is brimming with a wonderful array of fish and even has a two metre resident shark.

It is on a secluded natural lagoon facing north east and the Resort is about 1 hour's transfer from Mauritius International airport, which is in the south-east corner of the Island. It has a very privileged location and a great year round micro-climate.

Le Barachois restaurant is a floating restaurant in the same area of the resort on the lagoon and is incredibly popular, the ambience at night is electric as one dimes on the water, the walk from the hotel is also very special. The Legend has had a lot of work done on it during the low season of 2016.
This has involved a considerable amount of time and money getting the greens right and they are as good as they have ever been in Autumn 2016. At the same time the fairways which suffered from being too wet in the past have been raised and new drainage installed on holes 2,4, 6, 8,9 and 18.
The fairways and tees are also much improved to previous years.
The course is one of the oldest 3 on the island and is the most difficult to get a good medal score. There is water on so many holes, probably on 13 or 14 of the full 18, it is not a long course at all, but there is trouble waiting on every hole starting from the first. Indeed the first 5 can ruin a score card easily as they all have water. There are many dog legs, tricky par threes including the 3rd, the 7th and the 17th all over water. The 17th is the Signature hole! Birdies await on the par 5 s as they are not long but are very tight. The truth is you could lose six balls on a round here and not play too bad! Patience is the key and we would recommend walking the course with a caddie. £10 plus a £5 tip! Buggies are included if you are on the all inclusive package. It is a very walkable course.
This course opened in 2012 and has established itself as one of the best courses on the Island. The design is one with mostly elevated tees with downhill roller coaster tee shots, plenty of dog legs and large greens.
The terrain is over an old sugar plantation, which is why there are large mountains of stones flanking some fairways, which is a big feature. Highlight holes are the short par 4 8th and definitely the superb last 4 holes of the back nine, they are exceptional holes.
The Links is 3 minutes away from the hotel, with a separate clubhouse and driving range, laid out over much more undulating land. A shuttle runs to the clubhouse from the hotel.
The course is buggy only and this is included on the all inclusive package anyway. Tee times can be booked, but just the first two rounds only. Enjoy a nice lunch at the Links before heading back.
The hotel is one of the best places we have ever stayed at. Not one thing stands out, it was all first class. The accommodation, restaurants, service, ambience, attention to detail were all just superb. The golf courses were excellent. John Notman-Watt (Jan.16)
