The St Regis is the new address to take notice of these days in the Middle East. Located on the Saadiyat Island beach complex this is pure paradise and a beach area far superior to any of those to be found in Dubai. Natural sand dunes flank pristine white sand beaches which extend as far as the eye can see. The pool and sun terrace areas are simply outstanding and mirror the true class of the St Regis brand. The service levels and cuisine here at the St Regis are exceptional as are the leisure facilities, the hotel is bright and always reflects in the sun from the natural light from this incredible beach front location, it is one of the most stunning hotels for interior design in the Middle East and the bedrooms are large, luxurious and spacious.
We would always recommend picking ocean view rooms rather than golf course view but both are first class. Although the St Regis is not a pure golfer’s hotel it is so good that we felt it had to be included because of its sheer class and close proximity to the Saadiyat Course which wraps around the hotel.

The Saadiyat Island is a spectacular new links course on the Yas Island, dunes, links greens, fairways and wild views of the Arabian Gulf. A spectacular setting for holiday golf and a must venue for a big Championship in the future of the European Tour in the Middle East. Managed by the excellent Troon Golf management team. Watch out for the resident desert gazelles which grace the fairways and enjoy stunning sea views also.
The Yas Links has rolling hills and seaside greens, this Abu Dhabi based golf course is the first links golf course in the Middle East. Test your skills on a championship layout designed by world-renowned course designer Kyle Phillips, most notably known for The Kingsbarns Course at St. Andrews, Scotland and The Grove in London. To complement the course, this Abu Dhabi golf club features a floodlit driving range, a nine-hole par three academy course, and an exceptional 4,000-square-metre clubhouse. The course is nine out and nine back alongside the estuary and the beach with gorgeous natural sand dunes and pot bunkers.
The Abu Dhabi National is host of a major Event on the European Tour in the middle of Abu Dhabi during the month of January (the HSBC) where Robert Rock beat Tiger Woods in 2012, this is an oasis of a golf course within an urban environment. A wonderful 18 hole design with palm trees, sand hills and crystal lakes. Every much as strong a course as the Emirates Majilis Course in Dubai.
Hotel was truly impressive and could not fault the commitment of the staff and quality of service. Food was excellent, pools were terrific and gym/spa were awesome. The three courses were very different and equally impressive. Alec Spooner (Sep 14)
We found Abu Dhabi itself to be a marvellous location for a relaxed sunfilled high end holiday location for golfers, only a 6 hour flight from UK. We will be back many times. The hotel St Regis is fantastic with great rooms a wide range of restaurants, and exceptionally well trained staff. The pool facilities are also good with a great beach immediately in front of the hotelWe have played golf all over the world and Sadiyat Golf which is a short buggy ride from the hotel is a top range course. Pricing of alcohol is very expensive especially in the hotels so beware of that and likewise local golf tee time pricing but when booked through Elegant it felt like the golf pricing package seemd to reduce the golf costs.
