The Sueno Deluxe Belek opened its doors at the end of April 2015. David Sledmere, Product Director of Elegant Golf, inspected the resort 1 week after its opening to check out if it was up to the mark and how it compared to other golf resorts in our Belek portfolio.
The conclusion is detailed below. It would be true to say that the hotel has done very well to open on time. Most of its facilities, services and installations were up and running by week 2 of its launch, very impressive. The exciting thing is that the resort adds a new dimension to the region, it is a fresh design with different and unique attractions. The Sueno Deluxe is the sister hotel of the Sueno Golf and it is noteworthy that residents of the golf hotel can use the amenities of the new resort and dine in the a la carte venues for a small supplement.
The resort lies on the western side of Belek sandwiched between the Callista and the Cornelia Diamond Resorts. It faces the ocean with direct beach access. The hotel is 40 minutes transfer from Antalya airport. To access the entrance one drives to the Sueno Golf Hotel and turns a sharp right and it is just 400 yards from this reference point.
The Sueno Deluxe Belek is about 7 minutes walk to the Golf Academy and the Sueno Pines and Dunes courses. A shuttle transfer will run golfers down to the clubhouse and one can keep golf clubs in the locker room.Email Us Visit resort
The hotel is spectacular, an aerial picture makes it look like a giant crab, so it is a C shaped building with the main body of the structure facing directly opposite the ocean, with one wing facing the sunrise and the other facing the sunset. The hotel is big and brash and is making bold statements, it is to be reckoned with as a major player for decades to come. The hotel has an amazing lobby, massive space, very high ceilings it resembles the height of a Cathedral. The acoustics are impressive! Above the lobby are an amphitheatre of bedrooms all the way around the structure with 2 wings shooting off on each side. There is an immense feeling of space at all times and for the most part it is a very bright hotel with oodles of natural light pouring in from the ocean, the whites and blue colours thus blend in so well. The hotel feels far bigger than Maxx Royal and much brighter in the public areas than Cornelia Diamond.
The big design feature which attracts the eye is however the outside areas, there are more landscaped sun bathing areas and stunning swimming pools than any other beach resort in Belek. They snake their way down to the beach from the sun terraces above, seemingly going on for ever. The walk to the pier from the hotel is spectacular and stuns the senses in both directions, majestic design features and perspectives.Email Us Visit resort
The hotel even just in week 2 of its opening was surprisingly busy with several hundred beach and golf clients taking a risk on its launch date, there certainly seemed to be no negative vibes, everyone was enjoying the launch of a new venue with great gusto and enthusiasm. Yes there was still final touches being carried out inside and outside, but it was never disruptive.
The hotel is a fantastic family hotel, children will adore its amenities and layout. The beauty of the resort however is because it is big and because there are so many dining venues, bars, pool areas and sun bathing loungers on the beach it will never feel cramped and too busy.Email Us Visit resort
Apparently Sueno Deluxe Belek breaks a new record in the region for how many pools it offers, there are very large pools, small pools, Islands amongst the pools with grass areas and Cabanas and Gazebos. There are infinity pools and the impressive indoor pool beyond the spa offers the chance to swim outside and even sunbathe before you swim back in again. The temperature of the indoor pool is incredibly warm and even warmer as you go outside. There are deep areas for serious swimmers and super children's pools which are extensive. Adults will love it here because their kids can enjoy hours of run outside. The swim up infinity ocean view double rooms have their own private plunge pools with the best views of all from the main building.Email Us Visit resort
There are 2 lobby bars and beneath the lobby is a cafe style bar which is impressive and very relaxing you could be in a Square or Plaza of a city centre. Beyond the lobby in the inside of the building there is a unique Gondola which is a great place to enjoy a drink beside the grand piano and you can enjoy the 1 hour piano playing every evening from 6pm, to get the mood going. Just behind the lobby you can walk out onto a superb bar terrace which has a great viewing point with wonderful vistas across the terraced pool areas down to the pier. The pier has a bar which opens from 12 noon to 6pm in the summer season, a great place to escape out in the ocean.Email Us Visit resort
The Spa lies below the lobby level of the hotel at the end of the sunrise wing, just further down from the a la carte restaurants. There are 32 treatment rooms with a rich array of special massages and beauty treatments. The pricing of the treatments is very fair and competitive which make a refreshing change to some resorts. There is an Asian twist to some of the massages. Adjacent to the Spa is a very large gymnasium with state of the art amenities and a great location overlooking the pool terraces outside. Rey bright, spacious and airy. There are a few Turkish saunas, hammams and jacuzzis close to the Spa and the indoor pool. The indoor pool is very large and well designed with lots of natural light with the opportunity to swim outside, it is also very warm at 28 degrees!Email Us Visit resort
The hotel is made up mostly of the spacious deluxe double rooms which are large at 55 square metres and have walk in closets, bathrooms with walk in showers, twin sinks and WC but no bath. 3 adults are allowed to have triple room set up in this category.
There are some rooms which instead of having the standard balcony, have a very long terraced balcony with a grass area, with a special relaxation chair, these are run of the house and incredible value for money, all of which face the ocean. The lead in category of rooms is deluxe with garden and golf view. However the majority face the ocean and carry a modest supplement. We would highly recommend paying the supplement, the views are poles apart and as the sea view side is so special why would you not want to joy it every evening and every morning,. The deluxe suites are aimed at families with one or two children. They all have ocean view with 1 master bedroom, with bath and walk in shower, with a separate lounge which can have extra beds installed or sofa beds set up at night time. There is a second bathroom adjacent to the lounge, with just a walk in shower and WC. One of our favourite rooms is in fact the infinity swim up ocean view rooms which are a different style and more contemporary rather than classic, perhaps brighter with ocean blue colours and full frontal sea view but with the superb twist of a private plunge pool which is brilliant as they are not small.Email Us Visit resort
There are kids clubs for different ages and the hotel has big spaces allocated for children's activities with professional assistants. There are lots of supervised activities within a clean and safe environment. There is an extensive Games Room for children of all ages to keep your family occupied when the wearer turns or they fancy a change from the pool areas.Email Us Visit resort
Sueno Deluxe Belek has a large beach area for sunbathing, there is a super swimming area in the sea on both sides of the pier which is already up and running, uniquely for Sueno clients. There is no doubt that there is more than enough sun loungers here despite the size of the hotel. The sand is dark brown and the same as all the rival resorts here. Swimming is the norm her from April to October for warm temperatures.Email Us Visit resort
The pier has already opened by the first of May. It has its own bar and service, it also has lots of sun loungers and parasols on the decking areas and you can swim off this into the ocean down ladders. The pier is a great extra facility and real retreat especially for adults. The pier bar will probably not be open in the winter months. The bar is open on the pier from 12 noon to 6pm unless the weather is inclement.Email Us Visit resort
Sueno Deluxe Belek is known as a golf resort hotel, because the owners also have the excellent Sueno Pines and Dunes courses just 7 minutes walk way or a 2 minute shuttle transfer. As a consequence the hotel has the privileges of decent access to the other golf courses and recently from February 2016 it has been announced that there are now packages combining 3 rounds Sueno and 1 round Gloria Old or New. In terms of quality the owners wish to position themselves just beneath Maxx Royal, Regnum Carya and Gloria Serenity Resorts, perhaps just above the Cornelia Resorts and Sirene Belek and perhaps Voyage Belek.Time will tell but we have to say that they have made a very impressive beginning to reach this goal.Email Us Visit resort
The Pines and Dunes courses owned by the Sueno Group are exceptional, two 18 hole layouts through avenues of umbrella pine trees. One could definitely argue the case that as a 36 hole combination, they are the best Belek has to offer as they are both as strong as each other. There are enough holes with crystal clear lakes to keep it interesting, some super dog leg holes and especially on the Dunes some good changes of elevation. All said the most interesting features are holes 9 and 18 on both golf courses which all climax over water right in front of the Sueno Golf Hotel and Clubhouse. Spectacular design features in a natural amphitheatre.Email Us Visit resort
The cuisine even in week 2 from the launch of the hotel was first class, the buffet offering a rich tapestry of varied international cuisine, plenty of choice for sure no matter what your taste. Imagine our surprise when we were told in summer the buffet will get double the size, seemed hard to imagine. The fact that the hotel buffet area had 4 contrasting salons for dining was for us a unique and brilliant concept. Boring boring buffet is off the agenda.
The a la carte restaurants became operation on 4 May, with an Italian and a Mexican first up and running, the Mexican was superb a 6 course banquet was enjoyed and with good service and next door the Italian seemed very busy and clients happy. The Mexican however was a very pleasant change to the norm. Soon, by mid May, the Turkish and Asian a la carte venues will also open and all can be reserved via Guest Relations for a small supplement of 10 euros cover charge. great great value.
At lunch choose between the main buffet or the food markets down by the swimming pool areas half way to the beach.Email Us Visit resort
The all inclusive concept is a generous one, especially considering the fair and competitive pricing of the Sueno Deluxe Belek Hotel. All cocktails are included and a wide array of gins including Tanqueray, very decent Vodkas and Whiskies also.
No one will be disappointed on the Sueno drink's selection. The house wines included with dinner in the buffets and the a la cartes is very decent and includes a Rose, Wine and a Red. You can also choose a very drinkable sparkling Turkish wine every much as good as a Proseco or Cava.Email Us Visit resort
Sueno Deluxe Belek has many special features, we can touch here on a few we noticed during out inspection 1 week after opening! The outside food market areas on the left hand side of the pool areas will be incredibly popular during the lunch time and afternoon periods, offering an exciting blend of light snacks from around the world, a taste of everything.
The Gondola which is dark red sits proudly in the middle back section of the lobby with a grand piano with big candlesticks and cosy seating is very unique especially went the resident pianist is playing filling the large lobby with beautiful tunes. The swim up infinity ocean view rooms are very special and have large plunge pools and full frontal infinity ocean views, whilst a special mention to the clever buffet restaurants, there are 4 buffet salons all with different and contrasting styles so you can dine in 4 different locations and feel you are in completely different dining venues, Mediterranean, Classic, Modern ad Eclectic.
The pool areas are the biggest and most eye catching in Belek and the gorgeous walk from the lobby down to the pier is unrivalled amongst rival hotels. The perspectives are awesome. Big is beautiful at Sueno Deluxe. The vast lobby of the hotel immediately catches ones attention when you check in and excited you for what else there is to offer.Email Us Visit resort
The Sueno Deluxe Belek is well priced in its launch season and is very affordable for golfers and beach clients alike. There are early booking offers for summer clients if you book by 30 April for example. The Sueno Golf packages make full use of the Sueno Pines and Dunes courses adjacent with a shuttle transfer bus running on demand. There is no doubt that they are a fine enough combination to play on their own without venturing off to other nearby courses, but most people do and you will be tempted probably especial in busy months on the Sueno courses notably November and March.
A typical package we would recommend would be 2 rounds Pines,1 round Dunes, 1 round Lykia Links and 1 round on Nobilis or Tat. The joy of playing pure links at Lykia is a super contrast to the play amongst avenues of umbrella pine trees. It is also a nice day out and about a 40 minute shuttle transfer with Matrix.
From February 2016 Sueno have launched packages which include 2 or 3 rounds on Sueno and 1 on one of the Gloria courses, this will be one of the only chances of playing Gloria if you are not staying in one of their 3 hotels.
Finally notably Sueno Deluxe Beach clients can enjoy 1 in 8 free on golf packages which makes prices circa 10 percent cheaper than booking as a couple or four ball.
