This elegant hotel has a French Colonial flavour in terms of its architecture, the hotel was opened in 2005 and has been built on the site of an old Sugar Plantation owned by French entrepreneur Charles Telfair. The property has style and panache and eye catching designs, very much unique in Mauritius. A lovely river runs through the heart of the resort splitting the rooms on either side. The rooms on one side of the river are walking distance to the golf clubhouse at Heritage, whilst on the other one generally gets a shuttle transfer from the lobby.
The main attraction of staying at Le Telfair is that you receive free golf on the stunning Heritage Golf Course, which is now beyond argument the number one golf course on Mauritius. However, the service levels and cuisine are exceptional and it is a small hotel relatively with just 158 rooms, so it never appears busy.
Hotel guests can enjoy 3 hard court tennis courts, a great gymnasium and take part in lots of group stretching, yoga and Pilates lessons.
Looking to the future the Le Telfair will close for some renovation from June to August 2017 and in November 2018 a second course will open on a stunning piece of land higher on the Estate. Finally special mention of the Frederica Nature Reserve close by owned by the property where you can get out into the wilderness on the mountainside, and enjoy Quad Bike Trails, Jeep Trails or Buggy Trails.
The Seven Colours Spa at Le Telfair is also a stand out highlight in the most beautiful surroundings and at 2000 square metres has plenty of massive treatment rooms, relaxation areas, a pool with massage jets etc.
For water sports enthusiasts the two Heritage properties share a water sports school on the far side of the river at Telfair and all motorised sports are complimentary. It is noteworthy that you can also organise water skiing, scuba diving and kite surfing which
Is excellent in this region of the Island. You can even take a kayak up the river through the resort which is fun.
