When it comes to dining at the Hotel Quinta do Lago, guests enjoy a delicious á la carte breakfast at Brisa do Mar Restaurant, overlooking Ria Formosa, which is an exhilarating start to the day. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the restaurant, too, as well as at C’a d’Oro, an Italian restaurant where guests can dine indoors by the fire or out under the moonlight on the open-air terrace. The Classic Rooms are 44 square-metres and offer a sea, golf course or garden view from a furnished balcony or private terrace. The bathroom includes a bathtub or large walk-in shower. These 50-square-metre rooms feature stunning views over the sea, Ria Formosa Estuary or the hotel’s gardens. There is a king-size bed or twin beds, small living room with sofas, and a marble bathroom with bathtub or walk-in shower. This luxury suite, located on the top floor of the hotel, is 400 square-metres. Outside is a panoramic terrace with heated private pool and fabulous views of the Ria Formosa Natural Park and ocean. The suite has a foyer, two bedrooms with exclusive bathrooms – the one from the main bedroom is equipped with hydro-massage bath – a dressing room, a dining and living room, kitchenette and a small toilet. The exclusive Quinta do Lago Hotel Spa has four massage rooms, a gym, a heated indoor pool with counter-current and massage jets, a Turkish bath and a sauna. Golf Courses
With golf courses rated amongst the top 100 in Europe, Quinta do Lago is situated in one of the largest and most prestigious golf resorts. It is hard to choose between the four championship North, South, Pinheiros Altos and Laranjal golf courses in Quinta do Lago, and there are another 12 highly-rated courses within an hour of the hotel. Guests receive preferential green fee rates at the local golf courses, as well as complimentary transfers.
The North Course is five minutes from the hotel and presents a great challenge and enjoyable experience for golfers of all standards. The sandy terrain is a joy to play on, and the mixture of woodland, umbrella pine trees, tricky strategically-placed bunkers and water hazards keep players on their toes throughout the round. The course was designed by William Mitchell and later re-designed by Joseph Lee.
A European Tour Course, this course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times. Designed by William Mitchell, this 18-hole par 72 parkland course has a wonderful backdrop of the Ria Formosa, as well as fairways dotted with pine trees, lakes and flora. The Quinta do Lago South Course measures in longer than the North at a touch over 7,000-yards from the back, giving the big hitters of the ball an advantage on the par 5s.
Originally an orange grove, Laranjal is a beautiful 18-hole championship course, designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, with undulating fairways, five stunning lakes and well-defined greens. It is located 10 minutes from the hotel.
